Bookworm (“we,” “our,” or “us”) respects your privacy and is committed to protecting your personal data. This Privacy Policy explains how information is collected, used, and stored when you use the Bookworm iOS application (the “App”).

When you use Bookworm, we collect information that you choose to provide, including:

• Your personal library data (saved books, currently reading books, borrowed books, lent books, wishlist)

• Favorite quotes you add to the App

• Any metadata associated with your library entries

1.2 Sign in with Apple

Bookworm uses Sign in with Apple for authentication.
We receive:

• A unique, anonymized user identifier

• Your name and email address only if you choose to share them through Apple

Apple may manage or limit the information shared according to your Apple ID settings.

 

1.3 Camera Access

The App requests access to your device’s camera solely to:

• Scan book barcodes

• Scan text (such as quotes from books)

Camera images are processed only for scanning purposes and are not stored, transmitted, or shared beyond what is necessary to perform these features.

1.4 Automatically Collected Data

We may collect limited technical information, such as:

• Device type and iOS version

• App version

• Crash reports and diagnostic data

This information is used only to maintain and improve the App.

2. How We Use Your Information

Your data is used to:

• Provide and operate the core features of Bookworm

• Store and organize your personal library and quotes

• Sync your data securely with your account

• Improve app performance, reliability, and user experience

• Respond to support requests

We do not use your data for advertising or marketing purposes.

Your library data is securely stored and associated with your user account.
We implement reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information against unauthorized access, loss, or misuse.

While we take security seriously, no system can guarantee absolute security.

• With trusted service providers necessary to operate the App (e.g., cloud storage or crash reporting), under strict confidentiality obligations

Account Deletion

You may delete your account at any time from within the App.
When you do so:

• All of your personal data, including your library and quotes, will be permanently deleted

• Deletion is irreversible
